Special Message from Our Principal

Dear Sanchez Familia,

On behalf of the entire Sanchez Staff, welcome to a new year at David Sanchez Elementary School. We are so excited about working with you to ensure your child’s experiences with us are wonderful and filled with learning. Thank you so much for being part of our family.

Students will be supervised at Sanchez from 7:45 a.m. until 2:40 p.m. Breakfast is available from 7:30-7:45am. Please do not send children to school before these times, since there will be no supervision.

The hours of instruction for students at Sanchez School are as follows:

Afternoon session: 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Grades 1 – 6

8:00 a.m. – 2:25 p.m.

Every Thursday this year will be a minimum day. Please refer to your school calendar for specific dates. Kindergarten does not change. There will be two different minimum day out times. Most Thursdays we will be out at 1:32 p.m., but during conference weeks, we will be out at 12:25.

The school office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. We may be reached by telephone at (805) 361-4625. We encourage you to call or visit the school anytime you have questions, concerns, or comments.

We do have a few requests to help ensure the safety of all our children. Please keep your child’s emergency card up to date. We must have accurate numbers on the card at all times, or it may be necessary to call social agencies or community officials should your child be injured, become ill, or need immediate medical assistance.

We also ask that you call the school office each day your child is absent. If it is not possible for you to call, please send a note the day they return to class. Good attendance is critical for student success!

We know there are many forms to read and fill out at the beginning of each school year. We appreciate your time and understanding in getting all the forms returned to school as soon as possible.

We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year. Parents, please maintain close communication with your child’s teacher.

We love your children!

Sincerely,

Dawn Elliott, Ed.D
